Supervision

Supervision is critical for everyone who works with people, in whatever capacity- it helps is make sense of what might be happening in our work, helps make better decisions, and ultimately helps us learn and grow as practitioners.  I have a number of qualifications in supervision from varying fields,(including PTSTA and PEPs2) and have been directly supervising people within therapeutic fields for six years.

Although I draw on a number of modalities to support supervisees in their work, primarily I use TA. I started supervising in my social work roles, and continue to promote safety, and protection in my supervisees work. I am interested in working in a collaborative way, paying attention to the parallel process, and developing skills for the supervisee while keeping the client at the centre of our work.

I tend to use research and theoretical frameworks in supervision to frame our exploration of the work, as well as outlining established practical tools for future work.
